Submitting To Directories To Gain Exposure And Traffic

Submitting to directories is a great way to get your SBI! site out there. I actually learned about this through SBI! and SBI! has a searching tool that makes it easy to search directories that is right for your niche. One of the many benefits of being an SBIer. If you haven't bought SBI! yet, you're missing out on a wealth of information. :-)

Back to submitting to directories...

There are many to choose from, so you have to do a bit of research to find the ones that fit your site the best. Here are some pointers:

1. Make sure the Alexa Ranking is less than 100,000. Alexa ranking is a score that is given to a site based on traffic to that site. The lower the number, the higher that site's traffic is, the more popular the site.

2. Make sure the directory shows up in the top 5 page ranks on Google.

3. Make sure it's a directory you are proud to be a part of. A lot of them have adult content that is just not appropriate.

Some directories are free, most have a fee.

When you submit your site, it will be reviewed by an actual editor. They will either accept it, or reject it. I cannot tell you how excited I was to find that I got accepted to every directory I submitted to (so far! Phew!). I felt like I did when I got my report card back in high school. I passed!
